State of Illinois
Illinois Arts Council 
has been instrumental in supporting Illinois' highly acclaimed and diverse cultural community.  It recognizes and supports not-for-profit arts organizations, community programs, schools, universities and individual creative artists through grant programs, technical assistance, workshops and special initiatives.

Federal Government
Non-Profit Gateway 
is a network of links to Federal Department and Agency  information and services including Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Energy, Health & Human Services, Housing & Urban Development, Interior, Labor, Transportation, Treasury, and the Small Business Administration.

Points of Light Foundation 
is committed to engaging more people more effectively in volunteer community service to help solve serious social problems.

Corporation for National Service 
was created in 1993, is a public-private partnership that oversees three national service initiatives -- AmeriCorp, which includes AmeriCorps-VISTA, AmeriCorps-National Civilian Community Corps, and hundreds of local and national nonprofits.

Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance
is a list of the types of grants offered by all Federal agencies.  A search of the Catalog will help you identify which agencies have grant opportunities related to your program area. 

Federal Register
is worth watching on a regular basis for a Notice of Fund Availability (NOFA) for the grant opportunity in which you are interested.

U.S. Small Business Administration
is a business partner making SBA-guaranteed micro-loans from under $100 to $25,000 to women, low income individuals, minority entrepreneurs, and other small businesses that need small amounts of financial assistance. Nonprofit organizations also work with SBA in providing disaster assistance and distributing excess Government computers to schools.

GrantsNet -- Department of Health and Human Services 
is a tool for finding and exchanging information about HHS and selected other Federal grant programs. It is part of the much-publicized national movement toward providing government resources to the general public in a more accessible and meaningful manner. 

Internal Revenue Service Information for Charities and Other Non-profits
provides information regarding the requirements for tax-exempt organizations, how to apply for recognition of tax-exempt status by the IRS, and the annual filing requirements for tax-exempt organizations.
