Mayoral Task Force on Employment of People with Disabilities:
Mayor Richard M. Daley, realizing the need for the City of Chicago to significantly enhance employment and economic opportunities for Chicagoans with disabilities, recently signed an executive order creating a Mayoral Task Force on the Employment of People with Disabilities (Task Force) to develop a coordinated and aggressive citywide plan to bring more people with disabilities into the workforce.
Human Services Center CDHS Human Services
Centers help individuals and families in need access a
wide range of resources from shelter, food and clothing
to domestic violence assistance, drug rehab and job training.
Chicago Department of Children and Youth Services The Department of Children and Youth Services (CYS) is dedicated to helping Chicago's youngest residents make the most of their lives and their potential. CYS manages programs that serve Chicago's children and youth through a citywide partnership of more than 300 community organizations, social service providers and institutions.

Department
of Children and Family Services protects
and promotes the welfare of children, including homeless,
dependent or neglected children; provides social services
to children and their families; administers child abuse
prevention shelters and service programs for abused and
neglected children.
Health Care and Family Services, formerly the Department of Public Aid, is the state agency dedicated to improving the lives of Illinois' families through health care coverage, child support enforcement and energy assistance.
Guardianship
and Advocacy Commission safeguards the rights
of persons with disabilities by providing legal representation,
investigating complaints of rights violations and providing
state guardianship.
Department
of Public Health administers about 200 programs
and services that promote the health of Illinois citizens
through the prevention and control of disease and injury.

Administration
for Children and Families (ACF) - Department of Health
and Human Services is responsible for federal
programs which promote the economic and social well-being
of families, children, individuals, and communities.

to provide one-stop online access to resources, services,
and information available throughout the Federal government
for people with disabilities. The scope of disAbility.Gov
is comprehensive and includes college and adult education,
employment and income support.
