City of Chicago
Department of Consumer Services, Public Vehicle Operations Division regulates and licenses the public passenger vehicle industry including taxicabs, limousines, horse-drawn carriages, charter buses, water taxis and medi-cars to ensure their safe operation and the fair treatment of the public.

State of Illinois
Department of Professional Regulation issues more than 160 types of licenses in over 45 professional and occupational categories. It aims to maintain standards of competence for license holders and protect the public through disciplinary actions.

Department of Insurance regulates insurance companies and producers licensed in Illinois. It’s primary objectives are financial solvency and consumer protection.

Commerce Commission is the state's public utility regulatory commission. It oversees certain financial and service aspects of investor-owned electric, gas, telephone, water, and sewer utilities. The ICC also has regulatory responsibility for motor carrier insurance and licensing, 911 emergency telephone system planning and certification, railroad grade crossing protection, household goods moving, and relocation towing services in Cook, DuPage, Kane, and Will counties.
